DMAE Benefits

What is DMAE and what are the suggested DMAE benefits? The acronym DMAE stands for dimethylaminoethanol. It is also known as deanol. The molecule is an analog – a structural derivative – of one of the B vitamins. It is also a precursor of acetylcholine, that is, it is one of the molecules used to build acetylcholine in cell metabolism. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter, a molecule involved in the transmission of messages between nerve cells in the central nervous system.

Much of the DMAE information available highlights its relationship to acetylcholine. No doubt the link is the basis for research into the possible role of deanol in mental acuity, attention span, resistance to stress, and other neurological processes. The DMAE benefits suggested by this link are of interest to many people and deanol is being marketed as a dietary supplement for these and other health concerns; however the scientific evidence for its use in this way is not solid yet. This article discusses deanol in another application - as a topical anti aging skin treatment, an application with promising scientific backing.

Scientifically supported DMAE information is still relatively scanty; however, several controlled studies have tested the ability of deanol to improve the appearance and condition of aging skin. One study (reported in the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology in 2005) measured DMAE benefits by comparing a group of volunteers using a topical gel containing the molecule for 16 weeks, with a group who used a gel that did not contain deanol. At the end of the study, researchers found improvement in wrinkles in the forehead, around the eyes and nose, and on the throat. The shape and fullness of the lips also showed improvement. When the volunteers stopped using the gel for two weeks, the skin did not regress to its former condition.

DMAE information from studies indicates that the topical application of this product is safe: short term use was not found to cause redness, peeling skin, dry skin, itching or other discomfort. Further study found no significant problems after one year of use. Adding to DMAE benefits, deanol is apparently an anti-inflammatory, and continued use results in an increase in skin firmness. It seems as though this product may indeed have a role in anti aging skin care.

The mechanisms of DMAE benefits are still not clear. Again, its activity may be closely related to its role as an acetylcholine precursor. Research indicates that acetylcholine is produced, stored, and broken down in skin cells, and that the neurotransmitter is playing an active role in cell metabolism in the skin. DMAE information gathered to date doesn't tell us exactly what the molecule is doing, but it seems clear that it is essential to the healthy functioning of our skin cells - and that topical application of its precursor, dimethylaminoethanol, is beneficial to aging skin. No doubt, continued research will shed more light on DMAE benefits in the near future.

Best Anti-Aging Skin Care Secret Exfoliating For Beauty!

Our skin has an uncanny ability for recuperation. Consider this, the skin is exposed to abuse from the sun, air, pollution, air-conditioning and heat furnaces every day. Still it bounces back. The top layer of skin, called the epidermis, is periodically shed, leaving a softer, smoother layer exposed below. This is a natural, normal process that occurs every day and is called exfoliation. The exfoliating process is especially important for those interested in the very best anti-aging skin care. I believe all serious skin care is anti-aging skin care with the goal of keeping your skin healthy and youthful looking.

There are any number of anti-aging skin care products on the market today designed to give your skin the radiant clarity and glow of new skin by employing and speeding up this exfoliation process whenever you want. Including weekly exfoliation as part of your regular anti-aging skin care routine is important to remove dead skin cells and prevent skin from looking dull and aged.

Exfoliation Products Exfoliating, also called sloughing or epidermabrasion, can be accomplished in several different ways. Cosmetic companies offer a variety of exfoliation products which are generally categorized as abrasive or chemical.

Abrasive Exfoliates

Abrasive exfoliates remove dead cells with such ingredients as synthetic or food grains. One company relies on ground rice as one of its main sloughing ingredients, while another one has produced a product with the look and texture of oatmeal. Other abrasives are cornmeal and ground almonds which can use yogurt, oils or honey as soothers. Try any of these combinations yourself at home or use another one that appeals to you. You might want to try commercial products as well as homemade recipes.

There are also a host of brushes, mitts and washcloths used for this purpose. There are also body sloughing materials sold which definitely should not be used on the face.

Your skin will let you know if you are overdoing the exfoliating routine. If it becomes red or sensitive, cut back on the frequency. At all times, apply the abrasive material gently.

Chemical Exfoliates

Chemical exfoliates work by clearing away dead skin with salicylic acid, which you may know is a popular treatment for acne. There are an array of chemical exfoliates on the market from which you can make a choice as to which is best suited to your skin type and budget.

How to Incorporate Exfoliation Into Your Anti-Aging Skin Care Routine

1. Remove make-up with special creams designed for that purpose.

2. Cleansing - Use special facial cleansing bars appropriate for your skin type. Avoid soaps which have a tendency to dry out your skin.

3. Exfoliating - Exfoliate, using either a commercial product or homemade recipe.

4. Toning - Use a gentle toner after exfoliating to stimulate your skin and tighten the pores. Toners can make your skin appear smoother, and they do add brightness to your complexion.

5. Moisturize - Apply your favorite moisturizer.

In conclusion, people are living longer, healthier lives because of the many advances in the health field which make taking good care of the way your skin looks more important than ever before. Anti-aging skin care is a topic of interest to a lot of people today. Be assured that you have a wide choice in skin care products and that the quality is not necessarily proportional to price. Anti-aging skin care is within the reach of everyone.

Slow The Process of Aging - Contact An Antiaging Clinic

It was an old belief that there existed a fountain of youth, and if you drank from it you would have eternal life. We all do not want to grow old and incompetent; one of the best alternatives to the fantasy fountain is an antiaging clinic. The antiaging clinic, while it does slow the process of aging, foremost goal is to teach you how to encapsulate life and enjoy it to the maximum.

Relaxation, put your feet up, watch your weight and work out are to name a few of the ways to avoid aging. Bradford S. Weeks, M.D. runs an antiaging clinic and focuses on these angles listed above and how to integrate them into your daily life. Helping individuals to age in a healthier technique is what an antiaging clinic does; it also will lend a hand in slowing the aging progression and this may sound like an inconsistency.

One of the most vital pieces of information we can gain from Dr. Weeks is his understanding of body needs in requisites of nutrition and what best affects a person's ability to amplify their likelihood of living longer. He states that it is best for a person to consume half of your body weight in ounces daily. Drinking plenty of water is his first decree as the person in charge of his antiaging clinic. His advice is a person weighing 100 pounds should consume 50 ounces of water every day. This way your body stays hydrated and is able to function better.

Good Diets Is a Common Requirement

When most people hear the word diet, they automatically think of losing weight, and looking skinny but dieting is also good for many other things. A suitable diet can be of assistance in slowing the aging procedure and help continue a youthful look, this is not a hidden trick that stars have, and anyone knows that a good diet should maintain your youthful emergence and behaviour.

You would be surprised to be finding that the 2 things that you every single day of your life affect how you age. Eating and sleeping, there are certain foods that can actually slow down the process of aging and cause a more enchanted look, and also throughout the deep sleep phase that rejuvenation of the body happens. Another amazing discovery is the fact food can increase your will to live and eagerness in living. We all a good nights sleep means a good day of feeling well rested the next day, if you get a bad nights sleep then we know you will feel tired, groggy and grouchy the next day. It is simple common sense.

I am sure that you are dying to know what type of foods can help slow down the aging process. Well we have a lot of pros and cons with the diary products, there are some you can consume and some you should away from totally. Visiting an antiaging clinic will inform you of these things, for example, use foods grown on the vine or that appear like the food you saw growing out of the ground as a basic guideline. Carrots are pulled out of the ground then washed and served; therefore it is a safe food to eat. Nuts, seeds, salad and fish are also great examples of items that are superior in slowing down the aging development.

Another important concept that Dr Weeks and an antiaging clinic will teach you about is enjoying living your lives in spite of its duration. You will quickly learn that the goal is not to achieve infinite life, but to live life to its full potential.

Facial Exercise is the Best Kept Anti-Aging Secret

Nasal labial folds: you know - the folds and lines (wrinkles) that are determined to develop into permanent grooves on the side of your mouth, in your cheeks and up to your nose. They're more than just laugh lines. Even if they were formed by laughing, you don't feel like laughing now because every time you see them, you know they are winning the war of aging.

Flabby muscles make you look older; if your arm muscles jiggle, those muscles need exercise. If your thighs look dimply or the skin on your upper inner thigh feels thickly soft, you can firm and tone that area with exercise. The same with a thick waist, a droopy backside or a bulging tummy; exercise is the solution.

An exercised body looks streamlined; improved posture means you no longer slouch and your tummy looks flatter because your core muscles have new life and strength; they're in better shape from oxygenated blood, contractions and resistance.

The face and neck muscles can become flabby, too. When these muscles soften and then droop, it is blatantly apparent that something unflattering is occurring.

Mind you, aging in the face is sinister because it takes a lot of years for faces to develop lines, folds and sags. By age forty, most people are seeing the early stages of muscle atrophy when their eyelids feel and look heavy, by fifty, the jaw feels spongy and you see that droopiness is affecting your good looks.

The look of old will affect your confidence and no matter how you wear your hair, or how much makeup you use, you will still see sagging. You can disguise a multitude of aging in the body by the clothes you wear – black, loose fitting clothing can conceal waist, tummy, hips, thighs and arms but how can you mask aging in the face?

Thankfully, there are safe and sane techniques that will save your face and they are easy to master. Facial exercises will quickly isolate the affected areas of your face and in just minutes a day, you can deliberately, systematically, and consistently help your face look healthier, prettier, and younger.

These exercises are not contortions; rather, they are isometric and resistance exercises that will shape and contour your face easily and simply without the high costs typically associated with cosmetic or plastic surgery.

From the moment you begin this incredible transformation process, you will see and feel the difference in your muscles and skin every time you perform the exercise movements.

Successfully exercising your cheeks to lift those laugh lines requires you to learn how to anchor the muscles near the nose so when they contract they reposition higher near the ear in the hairline. Have you stood in front of your mirror and pulled the hairline up and back just wishing you could iron out those lines that run from the nose to the mouth?

Exercise helps this to happen. Not just one exercise. Several exercises target specific muscles and muscle groups to contract the cheek muscles up and back to the ear. Contractions and resistance movements plump up the muscles, helps the skin to look healthier from the increased blood supply and gives your face a toned and tightened look.

The muscles in the face weave over and under each other; one end attaches to bone, the other end attaches to either skin or another muscle. This means that when the muscles begin their downward slide, they pool into other muscles and muscle groups, depressing the face making one look tired and even old.

You can stop this.

Surgeons do not want you to know that you can shape and contour your face with facial exercise. They want you to believe that you need injections, surgery and other costly modalities to keep you looking younger.

Exercise is so easy and it makes sense. Consider this, in just minutes a day you can create visible changes that will turn into lasting results. In the privacy of your home, using only your thumbs and fingers, you have the power to reshape and contour your face so that you look younger and healthier without surgery, injections or risky procedures.

A Guide to Anti Aging Skin Care

Everyone wants to look young and have healthy looking skin. This is because our skin is the most obvious evidence of aging. The inevitable effects of sun, environmental conditions and lifestyle begin to take their toll on the skin as we continue to grow old. Fortunately, there are some anti aging skin care secrets that can give you a youthful appearance today.

Herbalist use a holistic, or whole body approach, when it comes to building an anti aging skin care strategy. The idea is that the apparent problem is not a cause but is actually only a symptom. If you can treat the underlying causes of aging skin, you can actually look young and add years to your life. The skin loses elasticity, then gravity pulls loose skin downward, and finally wrinkles appear in the natural process of aging. With anti aging skin care this process can be significantly slowed, and even reversed. Good nutrition is essential to any anti aging skin care program.

However, it's difficult to get all the nutrients your body needs for optimum health through diet alone. As a result, supplements are often necessary to ensure adequate nutrition. You can use many herbs and nutrients to restore and maintain healthier and youthful looking skin. You can also try a short-duration juice fast, if your health can handle it. Some research shows that a short fast and a reduction in calorie intake can activate a specific gene that repairs DNA. Folic acid is a B vitamin that acts to slow aging. You can also buy Resveratrol, a molecule that is present in red wine, as a supplement. Recently published research about anti aging skin care in the Scientific American shows that Resveratrol and Folic acid can reverse aging.

Vitamins A, C, E and zinc are also important nutrients in any anti aging skin care program. If you can take these supplements in the correct proportions and quantity, they can restore the elasticity of your skin. Vitamin E oil can be applied topically to crow’s feet, forehead, lip lines, and other problem areas with remarkable results. The easiest method is to pierce the Vitamin E gel cap and squeeze the oil directly on the skin. It's quite sticky, but if you do this at bedtime, it will be well absorbed by morning. Your scars will also disappear over time if you apply Vitamin E on them.

Jojoba, avocado, and almond oils are all excellent moisturizers, that can be found in most health food stores. This anti aging skin care method will bring wonderful results in just a couple of weeks. Papaya is a natural skin healer that was used during the Civil War as a dressing for wounds. Papaya leaves are antiseptic and promote new cell growth. Papaya is also available in tablet form. Grind several tablets into a powder and add a little water to make a paste for a soothing face mask. Apply the paste directly to your skin, and leave it on for about half an hour before rinsing it off.

Anti Aging Exercise

There isn't any single anti aging exercise or workout schedule that will keep you looking and feeling younger for longer. Rather, the message that most health professionals are trying to tell us all is that regular exercise of any kind is the key to feeling young, lowering the risk of many diseases, avoiding weight gain, and maintaining physical ability into the senior years. When designing an anti aging strategy at any stage of life, exercise is one of two vital components. The other is a healthy diet.

Lack of exercise and aging go hand in hand. If you are inactive, you will lose muscle tone and strength, your cardiovascular fitness will suffer, and you will find yourself less able to participate in sports or do other things you used to enjoy. Your posture will likely suffer as muscles deteriorate, and you will begin to suffer from back pain. Your blood pressure may start to rise. A sedentary lifestyle can result in myriad different physical problems. Even people who are quite young can seem prematurely old if they suffer from these effects of inactivity - from this perspective, any activity is anti aging exercise.

As well, you can exercise slow aging and lower your risk of disease at the same time. Medical research tells us that regular physical activity lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease and some cancers. Many diseases associated with growing older can be avoided, controlled or even eliminated with regular exercise and aging apparently reversed - blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol can all come down to healthy levels. Anti aging exercise for these medical problems can be as simple as a brisk twenty minute walk every day. Strength training is also often recommended for arthritis, bone density, and circulation problems.

While you are concentrating on anti aging exercise, you'll be dealing with another potential problem: the tendency to gain weight as you grow older. It's a fact that people tend to gain weight once they reach middle age. It's a slow conversion of muscle mass to fat storage due to lower activity levels, a slowing of the metabolism, and hormonal changes. Decreased exercise and aging seem to irrevocably result in fat storage. But it doesn't have to be that way. Keep up your activity levels by engaging in sport, walking, biking, swimming or some other regular exercise. Even gardening, house cleaning, and trips to the store can be opportunities to get exercise. You'll stay trim and avoid health problems at the same time.

Can exercise slow aging? Clearly it can, and it's a long lasting benefit. Engage in sports, active leisure time activities, regular work outs or whatever interests you - it's all anti aging exercise. And not only will you fell better now but you will be investing in a healthy and physically able old age. Your bones will remain strong, your strength levels will stay up, your joints will stay flexible, and you outlook will be positive. Get regular exercise and aging will seem like a normal comfortable process. Not only can exercise slow aging - it can improve your health and emotional well being in so many ways.

Here Is Your Anti-Aging Health System Top Ten List

If you are over 50 you can probably recall what "old" people in general were 30 or 40 years ago. They were usually pretty slow afoot. Few played sports or worked out. The terms anti-aging, or anti-aging system did not exist. Old was 50 in the 1960's and 1970's..

By today's standards, at 50 we are not considered old any more. Some of us have an anti-aging system in place that allows us to remain young as we enter our 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Some are young at 80 and we see more youngsters even into their 90’s. People are much more active now then they were three or four decades ago.

Most boomers no longer consider themselves old, which is quite plausible with life expectancy going up year after year. The terms anti-aging health systems and baby boomers are part of our culture today.

But we need our strength to assure us of a quality of life into our sixties, seventies and beyond. Like anti-aging system for health.

I have listed some suggestions to mull over in order to grow old at a snail's pace. These tips can be your anti-aging health system. And feel good doing it.

Make any of these anti-aging health system tips your own. If you apply the action for about 30 days on a continual bases it becomes habitual. Utilizing any of these actions on a perpetual basis will have a positive gain in your life.

1. The most meaningful anti-aging system health tip, is to stop smoking. We have all heard the many reasons not to smoke and to stay away from others' smoke.

2. Keep the weight down. Leanness is high on the list because fat cells have several bad effects - weight, hardening of the arteries and a propensity to concern type 2 diabetes.

3. Take supplements. Particularly alpha-lipoic acid and acetyl-L-carnitine. These will aid your energy output. One of my favorite anti-aging system tips.

4. Skip a meal each day or fast a day each week. Digesting less food appears to lessen tissue wear and tear from excess blood sugar, inflammation and free radicals. Consume lots of water to replace the meal. Drink enough water anyway

5. Get a pet. Pet owners tend to visit the physician less, survive longer even after a heart attack, and suffer less from depression and high blood pressure.

6. Get medical support for chronic pain. If you are in pain, get it seen to. Chronic pain dampens the immune system, can cause depression and tends to elevate levels of the noxious stress hormone cortisol.

7. Get walking. Through age, blood vessel walls tend to harden and exercise keeps blood vessels pliable. Light exercise also reduces the likelihood of diabetes, cancer, depression, dementia and even aging of the skin.

8. Lessen arguments. Arguments and fighting increase the risk of congested arteries. Rather than allow arguments to simmer, agree that it is OK to have differing points of view.

9. Live around plants. Having a garden or greenhouse to grow plants in is a wonderful way to decrease stress or recuperate from illness. Just being able to catch plants in a room or through windows has been proven to be beneficial to bed-ridden patients.

10. Do some weight-training. Strength training is almost as meaningful as cardio exercise to the aging body. This is because from 40 on the body can lose a quarter-pound of muscle each year which is replaced with fat. Lifting weights 3 times a week for a half-hour can easily replace that lost through natural aging.

So there you have it. Some tips on anti-aging health. A system that is safe and easy to use. Using all of these tips will do wonders for you.

How To Fight The Effects of Aging - From The Inside Out

Before we hit the age of thirty, we tend to think that we are invincible - that we may just beat all odds and live forever, in good health. But it seems that when we turn thirty, we instantly start noticing fine lines in our faces. By the time we turn forty, we are feeling aches and pains that weren't there a few years ago. When we turn fifty, we are having ‘procedures' that we never dreamed that we would have. If we live to see sixty, we consider ourselves lucky.

This habit of ignoring our bodies until something goes wrong is understandable. We've all learned to live under the premise of ‘if it isn't broken, don't fix it.' What we don't realize is that our bodies are slowly breaking - very quietly. As with anything else, our bodies need gentle loving care in order to thrive and survive. Unfortunately, our bodies were not designed to last forever, but there are steps that we can take to preserve them for a longer period of time. After all, when you turn ninety, you just may still need those achy knees!

It is a known fact that when an elderly person breaks a bone, they tend to go downhill at a much faster rate than they would have otherwise. A broken hip may seem like just a broken bone that will mend when you are young - but to an elderly person, such a thing can literally be a death sentence. Even though older people are not as active as younger people, they are at a much greater risk for broken bones than young people, simply because their bones are wearing out.

Arthritis is also a major problem for older people - but it is affecting greater numbers of younger people as well these days. This is because we don't get enough of the nutrients that we need to promote strong healthy bones and joints today. Before fast food restaurants existed, people actually cooked at home, and filled their plates with food that contained the minerals and nutrients that their bodies needed for good health. It was not uncommon for ninety year old people to be out and about - without pain.

While we may not have good nutrition on our side, we do have good research. Scientists have found that arthritis, osteoporosis, and the general breakdown of bones and joints can be prevented or delayed with the right mixture of natural compounds. Even if you have already started to experience the affects of aging, you can improve your joint flexibility, stimulate the growth of cartilage, and decrease joint pain.

Glucosamine is a natural compound that stimulates essential cartilage building blocks. These building blocks are glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans. Methyl Sulfonyl Methane, also called MSM, also works to improve and support the health of joints. Ipriflavone increases bone density, and Zinc, along with vitamins C and K1 are also essential to bone and joint health.

Before you run out to your health food store to look for these ingredients, realize that when you take pills, your body will only absorb about 10% of what you are swallowing. Liquid vitamins and nutrients work best, look for all of the ingredients that you need to support and improve the health of your bones and joints in one liquid formula.

Don't worry another minute about your bones. Don't suffer another day with arthritis pain. Do something for yourself today - and your bones and joints will show you their appreciation.
