Dream Work and the Fountain of Youth Within U

Juan Ponce de Leon who arrived with Columbus, never found the legendary "fountain of youth," whose waters prevented aging. Currently, medicine is the geography in which that goal is still sought. Human beings always seek outside of themselves that which resides within: "I kept reaching around for you, but you were inside my hand." (Rumi)

Inside everyone, as if stored in the "deep freeze" of the unconscious mind, is any potential we have failed to actualize in our waking lives. We are all, to some degree, "failure to thrive" adults. Dreams are one profound tool that access these untapped resources. Dream images birth into our awareness the talents, capacities and energies stored within us. One extraordinary case made this abundantly clear.

June S. began exploring her dreams at age 68, when she was markedly declining. Her early dreams excavated the interior forces active in the present and eventually addressed her earliest roots. Her childhood in the deserts of Utah was rugged. Her sister did not survive childhood... and many parts of June did not either! Various non-essential qualities and their attendant life-force simply did not emerge from the unconscious.

After several years of intensive dream work, June reported a dream that changed her life--and my own understanding of dreams: June is holding three babies and is feeling a radiant joy filling her heart as she cradles and loves and adores these three infants. In dream-like logic, they are wrapped in lettuce leaves.

"What does this glorious dream mean? she inquired.

I said I suspected these were three aspects of her own psyche which had not survived her first year and were only now--7 decades later--ready to be born!

"Why would they be wrapped in lettuce leaves? she asked.

"Probably, to see if you're a vegetarian yet," by which I meant, that this new energy is not to be consumed directly and applied to more of whatever projects the ego already intends. It is new life meant to grow on its own terms.

I had no idea what this remarkable dream foreshadowed, and I have never seen another case so dramatically clear, though this process is very common in dreams. It is why late bloomers benefit so much from the midwifery of dream interpretation.

Within a year of this dream June called to tell me she was having a bit of a "problem:" while her peers were growing visibly older by the month, she was growing visibly younger. And gaining more energy and more enthusiasm and was developing new interests she had never had. She made it clear she would be happy to cope with this new "problem" however long it continued!

I lost track of June for several years, but got occasional reports when she resumed dating (and affiliated activities she had assumed were long extinct). I remember her joking about how all the "middle-agers" would tire from dancing (she was taking lessons) and from partying (she was giving lessons) long before her energy ran down. Then she returned to school to study mystical and spiritual topics and writing and poetry and art.

Next I heard she had completed the 400 mile peace march across Russia! When she started her Sunday evening poetry salons I attended and was amazed that her energy and life force had continued to strengthen for years after the famous "3 babies" dream which she marked as the turning point in her transformation. It seemed that three separate one year old aspects of her psychic energy had been "averaged in" with her 70+ year old self, resulting in reverse aging. Too bad Ponce de Leon died seeking the fountain in Florida, when it was within, all along.

Virtually every cutting-edge lecture or performance I attended for years revealed June S. well ahead of me in line or already seated somewhere in the front row. I remember telling her at a Robert Bly lecture, the best thing I could do to further my spiritual education would be to steal her daytimer.

When I last saw June she was in her eighties and still so full of life and enthusiasm and playfulness, I could not believe this was the deteriorating 68 year old I had met, long ago. I now know that unlived potentials reside within every person. Whenever we fail to thrive, we store that life force, and if we do the work to reclaim it, we find ourselves as poet David Whyte says, "growing younger each day toward death."

Survivors Start Nostalgia Craze

Baby boomers, i.e. people in their fifties and sixties don’t like to be reminded how old they are. But, ironically they are unable to resist looking back on the Seventies with fond nostalgia. Luckily for them, there is currently a big revival of that extraordinary decade. It’s not surprising as the Seventies were not only totally revolutionary politically - i.e. the advancement of civil rights, gay and women liberation, the Watergate scandal and the end of the Vietnam war to name a few. But, also the fluctuant times were reflected in the Arts, especially fashion and Music. Glam rock was followed by the revolutionary punk movement and also disco.

Fortunately for nostalgic Seventies aficionados, their favourite decade has never gone away and is currently enjoying a bigger come-back than the Sixties even. I started writing “Frantic” in the early Seventies and captured the essence of what I experienced in those hedonistic times. Wild times, fuelled by rock 'n' roll and harder drugs, which produced consequential psychotic illness were the norm amongst kids in the inner cities. But, I would never have predicted that the recent publication of my novel "Frantic" about the nostalgic Seventies, would coincide with the present nostalgia boom. I would never have guessed that the novel I started writing at the beginning of that decade would turn out to be so topical!

It's not only literature about the Seventies which has suddenly become fashionable, but also music and the manufactured Sex Pistols which instigated punk rock. It's amazing how the Arts have all been regurgitated at the beginning of the twenty first century. Especially, the '70's explosive, Hollywood Movie Industry, which churned out masses of commercial, individually themed movies, created by youthful, auteur styled directors like Martin Scorsese, Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas to name just a few. Also '70's horror films paved the way for pale imitations for years to come. The intellectual David Cronenberg, George Romero, John Carpenter and the Italian Maestro – Dario Argento were gods of the genre, and haven’t been untoppled to this day in the popularity stakes.

Thanks to cable television, DVD and downloads on the internet, Seventies movies haven’t been banished to languish in the archives. Francis Coppola’s “The Godfather” movies (1 & 2) are still globally showing, likewise Spielberg’s cinematic masterpieces, like “Jaws”, “ET,” “Close Encounters Of The Third Kind’ etc. George Lucas’s initial “Star Wars” movies were so innovative, that to this day, jaded cinema buffs don’t believe that modern film-makers can ever repeat that exciting folklore magic. Not only were the actual movies larger than life, but so were the legendary movie stars who appeared in them. Actors like Al Pacino Robert de Niro practised the Method, and actor Warren Beatty, who had the power, made and acted "Shampoo", the ultimate Seventies movie about hairdressing in Beverly Hills. Not only did the Seventies produce a new wave of successful Hollywood movies, but decades later, nostalgic cinematic offerings like Cameron Crowe’s “Almost Famous”, revivalist music, art and literature all helped to keep the Seventies resurrected for a very long time to come.

Seniors Finding the Right Exercising Plan and Implementing It

Exercising. Isn’t it funny how one word can mean so many different things to different people? For some, the word exercising conjures up thoughts of pain, maybe even torture, and always work, right?

For the enthusiast it means freedom from work, the chance to get the endorphins flowing and experience the thrill of seeing what our body is capable of. Luckily for me, I fall into the later category, and the older I become the more enthralled I am with things like competitive bicycle racing, downhill ski racing and the training it takes to be involved.

As with many things in life, it is often how you approach exercising. For me it is sport related, but it didn’t start out that way, and it probably won’t for you either.

The initial draw was purely social. I’ve been divorced for a number of years and finding attractive, athletic and outgoing women wasn’t going to happen in bars or nightclubs; I knew I’d have a better chance meeting someone of similar interests at a health club.

Over the years health clubs went from bare bones equipment for body builders to the high tech, high-energy super-sized exercise arenas they are today. Now you can get classes in yoga, aerobics, step aerobics, kick boxing, tai chi, spin classes and personal trainers who will put you through your paces several days a week or what ever your budget will allow.

I use my health club in the cooler and wetter months, otherwise I’m outside riding or running…you can still meet nice people that way too.

The key to a healthy lifestyle is to make it yours by:

· Reading magazines that will give you a leg up on the types of things you can try or particular training regimes, sports or activities that interest you.

· Visiting several of the national chains like Bally’s or 24 hour Fitness and see what the different levels of membership offer.

· Visiting the smaller independent local gyms and get the programs available there.

· Join a club like I did for bicycle racing. There you can be specific in the sport your after, meet new people, pick up training at the same time as enjoyment.

Don’t be surprised that after you start a program that you become either very attached or hate it. Finding and getting started in anything isn’t always smooth or easy. To over come this, find a training partner, a friend who is seeking the same outlet with similar goals. Try many programs to find your niche.

For seniors it is very important to start slowly, work up to high-level workouts over a year’s time frame. Chart your progress and initially lay out game plan for the next three months, the next six months and finally over a year. This way, you have a plan to follow, and won’t get lost along the way.

The fun of accomplishing a new program is infectious, the new people you’ll meet will make the whole experience more interesting, and the positive changes in your health and outlook on life will amaze you.

An Antiaging Skin Care Treatment Routine

Everyone is growing old, there are ways to slow it down, you see them advertised everywhere. A lot of what we see available only cause cosmetic changes to ourselves such as hair dye to cover those nasty grey hairs or make up to cover up our wrinkles and make us look old.

Just tackling the warning signs of aging is not going to be enough to win the fight against getting older. The main thing that displays our age publicly is our skin, with its sagging and wrinkles. We need to attack this core item individually in order to look younger.

An antiaging skin care treatment is a very successful way of beating nature and focusing on needs of our skin. It goes one step further than just solving the warning signs. Understanding the aging process of the skin will help you in maintaining an antiaging skin care treatment routine.

Aging Skin

What we have here are 2 vital components and in order to understand the need for antiaging skin care treatments we have to comprehend them. First off, we will face how the skin is affected by the natural aging process, and then we will focus on the second which is the significance of the skin and its association to the body.

The functions that the largest organ of the body, skin, provides is the reason why skin is so important to us. An important function of the skin is the cooling of the body through sweating, perspiration allows the human body to maintain its 98.6° temperature. Also the skin's capability to be on the frontline in warding off sicknesses is the other vital function.

Loss of elasticity fallout is the wrinkling and sagging of the skin because skin becomes less supple and elastic. Aging results from the loss of collagen from our bodies.

Have you ever noticed the high number of elderly who have heat stroke? This is due to the fact that as we grow older the skin's ability to perspire is lessened therefore the skin loses ability to perspire. A lot of women experience dryness of the skin while going thru menopause, this is because skin creates less oil and therefore a decrease in the skin's moisture occurs. Other aging symptoms that we can see clearly are warts, pimples and discoloration; otherwise known as "age spots".

Antiaging Skin Care Treatment

We should all know that being out in the sun is one of the most sensible ways to take part of an antiaging skin care treatment. Sometimes we are not able to prevent being out in the sun so we should protect ourselves to the maximum, if you don't you can look forward to wrinkles later on in life. Apply a high SPF sun block to any area that may be exposed to the sun, you can also wear protective clothing and head cover.

Do you recall that collagen is the aspect of the body that contributes to the elasticity of the skin? Well maintaining a proper diet of fruits and vegetables and keeping the body hydrated through the daily 8 glasses of water day ritual. One of the goals of an antiaging skin care treatment is the health of the skin and to manage all of this we have nutrition. A nutritionist will assist you with what foods you should eat and how to stay healthy.

Exfoliating is a method that serves removing dead skin from the body, many lotions contain exfoliating ingredients. Your mother put lotion on you growing up, and you put it on your children, why? They stay soft and moisturized of course; we should do this to ourselves as well. Lotions also help retain moisture in your skin. Exfoliating helps keep the pores of the skin clean and helps in maintaining the glow of the skin. This simulation of the skin helps to reproduce and encourage new cell growth and if the new cells get qualities form the old cells, we want to make sure the old cells are strong as well.

If 40 is the New 20, then Why Do I Sometimes Feel Sixty?

The fact of the matter is as we get older we do tend to slow down a bit. Can you do now what you did at twenty? If you can more power to you if not then stick with me here.

Lets face it todays world is rush rush not enough hours in the day, we tend to work longer hours, the kids have places they need to be and lets not talk about the traffic jams that tend to be a way of life anywhere you go these days. So what does all that mean? More stress, bad eating habits, not enough exercise and simply not taking care of ourselves.

Body parts tend to start sagging a little your energy levels are low and jeez your belt or dress size just went up again! But i'm over 40 can I build muscle and lose weight? I don't have the time to go to the gym, joining a gym is so expensive. Have you used any of these? sure you have who hasn't.

Two years ago I was getting a physical for a new job and was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure it was so high the doctor wanted to put me in the hospital right then and there. What was my answer to him I don't have time for that I have things to do. Now I was not vastly overweight about twenty or so pounds but had become pretty sedentary other than going to work, running errands and cutting the lawn.

I didn't get the job because of the High Blood Pressure and was not happy at all. Then a little light went off that said hey stupid keep going this way and soon you might be dead. I then decided the excuses had to stop was I busy yes but isn't that sometimes just an excuse we use not to do something?

Here is some of what I do now I get up a half hour earlier and do 15 minutes on the threadmill, after work its 45 minutes of weight training about an hour or so before bed I go outside for a brisk 20 minute or so walk. The result I've lost 28 pounds and my blood pressure is under control.

What did I give up to get my health back? A little sleep and watching some television. I've built some extra muscle, lost weight and my energy levels are much higher and I also cut out the junk food and got smarter about nutrition. No I didn't Diet I just eat smarter and do cheat once in a while as a reward.

Soaps And How They Effect Skin Care Today

The affect on the public that laboratory tested soaps have had over the years in my opinion has been harsh on the skin, too say they have become more available at a fraction of the cost in some cases.

The natural hand made element of soap making has been taken away in many aspects and they have replaced it with products that have been tested. In this day and age especially amongst the younger generation there is this urge for great skin care. Many people still us fresh hand made soaps on a regular bases as part of a health diet to great skin care.

What is the difference and what makes them better?

Natural products are generally hand made by a good aromatherypist that is qualified in this field, with natural products such as lye and other natural oils and abstracts they have the generic properties for good skin care. Lye was a great favourite in the old days,

How ever now and days in the age of profit racketeering major companies and business men alike exploit the market and the ridicules profit margins to be had . Mass production attempts across the region can only mean a cut in expenses to deliver something that servers the majority and delivers a generic need and affordable prices. Some people often find that mass produced soaps have some common ingredients that they may have allergies and other skin ailments with, how ever there are many fresh hand made products that will be deemed suitable.

The soap range in fresh hand made produce is second to none; you will find that the choice of fragrances can be very much your own choice. There are so many different shapes and flavours to choose from for exam: Apple, Patchouli, lavender, are just some of my personal favourites in fragrances. You will find that natural hand made soaps have special properties to offer unique to you as a person whether you have an allergies problem that you need to take care off or do you just want nice fresh aroma’s in your bathroom .So in short we do not welcome mass production in soaps.

Some people will not find what they need because it is not possible that you please everybody. Although there are some other avenues to explore, you might want to think about making your own soaps, but please do not take this task lightly because there are some ingredients that are not compatible with each other . I would not try and mix my own soap unless I had the right advice. And it is always a good idea to read up on the safety aspect of the of the job.

Overcoming the Fears of Aging

It is true; one of the most common fears in people is the fear of growing old. However, growing old or aging is a natural process. Dealing with the signs of aging, wrinkles, is nothing short of being a traumatic experience for many men and women. Often times in desperation, we resort to experimenting with various anti-aging methods as an antidote for slowing this aging process. So is it possible to prevent the signs of time from leaving a permanent imprint on our skin and psyche? The answer is yes and no. Yes, we can delay the signs of aging by using effective anti-aging products available in the market. No, we can’t prevent time from leaving a sign of its passage. How should you initiate this process of prevention? Easy. Start by finding out all the anti aging options (products, medicines, gadgets etc) available in the market. Compare their usefulness and find a treatment which has been referred to you by friends, relatives or colleagues or your doctor. These recommendations can help you to make an informed choice, and probably assist you to get the desired results from using these products.

Anti - Aging Products and Treatments

Anti-aging treatments require patience and faith. Do not expect miracles. Depending on your skin type and condition, tailor-made treatments can be opted for, to gain the maximum benefit. Besides, any good anti aging regime should include proper skin care techniques, and treatments. Skin care treatments are the essentials of anti aging. The first sign of aging always appears on the skin, especially, under the eyes or on the forehead. Many ingredients have proven to rejuvenate your skin, effectively. One such skin rejuvenating agent is retinol, which is a derivative of vitamin A. Although Retinol is extremely effective, yet it can cause skin irritation. So if you have a sensitive skin, then this treatment is a no-no. Vitamin A belongs to the anti oxidant category. Anti oxidants prevent your body from creating free radicals, which enhance the aging process. Some, common, anti oxidants are Vitamin A, Vitamin B-6, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Folic Acid and Selenium. The regular supply of anti oxidants can be gained through eating lots of green vegetables and fruits.

This is the natural, inexpensive, and healthy way to control aging! Chemical exfoliation is also an effective treatment. Alpha hydroxyl acid or beta hydroxyl acid products are used to chemically exfoliate your skin, and reduce the wrinkle count. One of the most popular products in this category is AHA glycolic acid. The important thing to remember here is that you need to consult your doctor before going for any of these treatments. Using a concentration level of lower than 8% or higher than 15% will be harmful for your skin. However, if you follow a fitness regime from young age and eat healthy, your skin will remain younger-looking for a longer period. Moreover, one item you simply can’t forget is a Sunscreen cream or lotion. Regular use of sunscreen reduces the signs of aging, and helps you increase the effectiveness of the anti aging products that you are using for rejuvenating your skin!

Wrinkle Treatment and Prevention

Wrinkles are caused by the skin losing elasticity as the body ages and from the long-term effects of muscle contractions from smiling, frowning and laughing. But they are also worsened by sun damage, smoking and from the stressful lives that we lead. Today more and more people go in for wrinkle treatment with Botox cosmetic. Botox a sterile, purified protein produced from the bacteria, clostridium botulinum, is injected in small amounts into facial muscles binds to the nerve endings supplying the muscle and prevents nerve impulses from traveling to the muscle.

The resultant weakening or paralyzing effect on the facial muscle temporarily reduces or eliminates previous skin creasing and new skin creasing is avoided. Within three or four days of this wrinkle treatment, the patient can have a visibly smooth wrinkle-free face and the effect typically lasts for 3-6 months after which the treatment needs to be repeated. Most nagging reminders of age, the wrinkles like forehead creases, brow furrows or eye lines (crow's feet) can be effectively treated by injecting mild doses of Botox.

Collagen, that happens to be a fibrous protein substance that is part of all human and animal tissue, is also used to remove wrinkles from all areas of the face. In this anti-wrinkle treatment, collagen bovine (cow-derived) or human collagen is injected into the skin to fill out the skin and remove the wrinkles. Prominent facial creases and folds around the forehead, cheeks and chin can be treated as well with this material. Before collagen (wrinkle) treatment, a collagen allergy testing has to be performed, and the treatment needs to be repeated every 2-4 months.

Other wrinkle-treating methods commonly in use are dermabrasion, laser resurfacing, fat implants. In dermabrasion, the surface layer of the skin is removed by high-speed sanding. But this technique is not that successful in case of very prominent wrinkles, it is basically a way of facial skin rejuvenation, as it is very effective in removing and reducing acne and scars. Laser resurfacing, another wrinkle treatment method, works best on fine, shallow wrinkles caused by aging or sun damage. In case of fat implants, fat is taken from one area, usually belly, buttocks or thighs and deposited in laugh lines, frown lines, sunken chins, and hollow cheeks.

Anti Aging Vitamin Supplements

When you're shopping for anti aging vitamin supplements, what should you look for? The best products are likely to be comprehensive multivitamin and mineral formulations that contain all the same vitamins and minerals you're used to, plus some special additions believed to be important for healthy aging. Because we now know that many aging processes are caused by tissue damage done by free radicals, supplements for healthy aging usually focus on antioxidants, substances that capture free radicals.

Antioxidant multivitamins contain a variety of antioxidants that remove free radicals - reactive molecules produced by pollutants, toxins, and metabolic processes - from tissue before they have a chance to react with healthy cells and do damage. Some familiar vitamins and minerals - such as Vitamin C, A, and E, zinc, and selenium - are potent antioxidants, so anti aging vitamin supplements usually contain them. Other antioxidants that are frequently added include lycopene, naturally found in tomatoes; sulforaphane, an extract of broccoli; lutein; and beta carotene. Getting a variety of antioxidants is important because, while they are all beneficial, they don't all act in the same way.

Choose your anti aging vitamin supplements with care - be sure to buy from a reputable source and check the product information for the amounts of all the ingredients. Just like regular vitamin preparations, antioxidant multivitamins should be clearly labeled, and have safe dosage information. Look for the letters "RDA" (recommended dietary allowance) and check what percentage of this your multivitamin provides. You may also see "EAR" (estimated average requirement) or "UL" (upper intake level). The UL is especially important because it tells you how much of something it is safe to ingest. Never exceed this level, and remember that you receive many nutrients and antioxidants in your diet as well. Too much can be just as bad as too little.

There is still controversy with respect to antioxidant multivitamins. While scientific research has clarified the role that free radicals play in the aging of our bodies, and experts agree that antioxidants are valuable weapons against free radicals, it’s unclear whether getting those antioxidants in anti aging vitamin supplements really does much good. There's no doubt that antioxidants found in foods are highly beneficial so, as a first step in an anti aging routine, eat a healthy diet with lots of brightly colored fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, and whole grains. This will provide you with beneficial antioxidants. Then you can choose from the range of antioxidant multivitamins to top up your dietary intake and ensure that you've got it covered.

Have Troubles With Wrinkles

Here’s a little quiz for you. How many types of wrinkles are there altogether? If you answer is one, then sorry, that’s not the right answer.

The medical director of Dermatology center in Nashville, Dr Melvin, co-author of a book called The Good Look Book, says there are at least four different kinds of wrinkles altogether. That’s because wrinkles are caused by four different factors which includes:

Sun exposure

One of the prime causes for wrinkles, the sun can create havoc in our skin dermis, making it brittle and fragile. Constant exposure to the sun can destroy collagen and makes the skin less firm and taut. You need to protect your skin from those harmful UV rays and it is advisable for you to put on some form of sun-protective cover like sun blocks or a hat whenever you are out in the sun.

Old age

As you head to your middle age, your skin will begin to show the signs of aging. As you get older, your body produces less collagen and oil. This makes your skin less elastic than before. Consuming lots of vegetables, fruits and ensuring that your are not stress is a good way to grow old but look young.

Sleep

The position of your sleeping position can also result in “sleep lines” to form. Bad sleeping habits like sleeping on your side or stomach means force is being exert on your skin membrane during those resting hours for your body. Wrinkles can appear because of that as you grow older. Try to make a habit to sleep on your back instead.

Facial expressions

Blinking, smiling, frowning and even eating can create that unavoidable horizontal line across your forehead and eyebrows. These lines will deepen in your thirties and forties, and finally appearing as wrinkles thereafter. Try not to squint or grimace as repeated actions can hasten those crow’s feet.

But if you already have wrinkles, then you may want to try simple treatment options like anti-wrinkle cream to help you in the fight against those crinkled lines first. It’s a quick and safe way to help reduce those bluff lines.

Finding an Anti Aging Formula that Works

My mother is constantly complaining about the wrinkles and fine lines that have been appearing on her face. I am not really concerned about these things, but then again, I am not a female. The female gender generally pays more attention to the signs of aging. Maybe this is what some people mean when they say, that men age and gain character, but when women age they look like old maids.

I think that that statement is not fair. It’s obvious that a man initially instilled this mentality about aging. Nevertheless, the cosmetic market has been bombarded by the ever-popular anti aging formula. New anti aging products and brands are being sold at beauty stores and clinics every year. However, it’s difficult to determine the effectiveness of these products unless you test them yourself.

What anti aging formula do you use? Are you using the Este Lauder Fruition or the Clinique Turnaround Cream? Both of these products have some sort of exfoliant as the active ingredient which helps maintain your youthful beauty. Fruit juices are also popular ingredients that are in any quality anti aging formula. They are useful in clearing away the dead skin, making you look younger.

Nowadays, even men are using some sort of new-age anti aging formula. Men can choose from a number of cosmetic lines through the Internet. If you think that it’s great to see a few male skin care systems in the department stores, you’ll be amazed by what’s on the World-Wide-Web. There are countless cosmetic products that are specially made for men in cyberspace.

However, finding an anti aging formula that actually works as advertised can be hard to find. Decent products that prove worthy are often far and few in between. Fortunately, you have a good chance of finding a quality anti aging formula through the Internet. You can check out the reviews and read about what other people are saying. The anti aging formula that can preserve your youthfulness may be just a mouse click away.

Prevent Wrinkles and Premature Aging: 3 Secrets That Drastically Slow Down Your Skin From Aging

Aging is inevitable, but you can form many simple habits to slow it down for a long time. It's better to try and prevent wrinkles than to wait until they form and get rid of them. How early and how deep wrinkles show depends on your overall lifestyle, genetics, and environment. If you take to heart these three secrets, you will look younger and feel healthier. Wearing a form of sunscreen, sunglasses, and staying out of the sun have been discussed repeatedly in many other sources, but these three are generally overlooked.
Secret #1: Limit your intake of processed sugar.
Scientific evident proves that processed sugar is responsible for 50% of the skin's aging! There are hidden sugars in many commercial products such as ketchup, sauces, breads, etc. Read the ingredient list very carefully to know exactly what you're putting inside your body.
Secret #2: Limit using commercial skincare products that use refined vegetables oils in their ingredients.
Research reveals that refined vegetable oils applied topically (and eaten with foods) create free radicals. This causes aging of the skin. Use unprocessed oils when cooking and use extra-virgin olive oil as a moisturizer and eye cream.
Secret #3: Limit your intake of water that is too acidic for the body by drinking alkaline pH based water.
Research reveals that commercial tap water and bottled water are too acidic for the body. According to Dr. Robert Young, a research scientist who specializes in nutrition, "excess acid causes partial lipid breakdown and destructive oxidative cascades. This accelerates Free Radical Damage of cell walls and intracellular membrane structures, which then unravel, killing cells in the process. Acidosis is thus thought to be the first step toward premature aging, accelerating oxidative cascades of cell wall destruction, creating wrinkling, age spots, dysfunctional hormonal systems, interfering with eyesight, memory, and a host of other age-related phenomena."

Discover the Truth about Anti-Wrinkle Creams that Could Potentially Cost You Hundreds

Collagen skin cream this and collagen anti-wrinkle cream that. You see it all the time on TV commercials or online ads. Their $100 anti wrinkle cream claims to have collagen that is absorbed into your skin and reduce wrinkles. So you order it and add it to your skin care regimen.
You use it for a few weeks waiting for the wrinkles to disappear. And what happens?
Not much. You're out $100 and you still have wrinkles to worry about. And then you chalk up another product into the scam category and on to the next product.
Let's back up and discover why this type of product will not work for you.
Collagen is a crucial ingredient of our bones, skin, cartilage, and tendons. It is a vital building block or your skin. It makes up almost a third of bodies. It is also produced naturally by the body. As we get older our ability to produce collagen decreases and that's when wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin starts to appear. And it's at this point that collagen based anti-wrinkle cream ads look more appealing.
But this is where you are likely throwing your money down the drain. Collagen is too large to be absorbed by the skin. That is why there are collagen injections. If collagen was absorbable through the skin then you could just rub it on and everything would be fine and the wrinkles would disappear. Then we wouldn't have Botox or collagen injections. If only it were that easy.
Anything that says it contains collagen does you no good, since it won't get under your skin to provide any benefit. You are better off with an injection. Or you can try to boost your collagen production from the inside out with the foods you eat.
Recent studies have shown there are creams that can help you boost collagen production. Those provide a better alternative than the ones claiming they have collagen in them that will be absorbed in your skin.
Anti-wrinkle cream advertisers and manufacturers hope you don't find out the truth about their collagen based anti wrinkle creams. They would rather sell you the promise of better looking skin for $100 a pop. But now you know better. And that will save you hundreds of dollars a year easily.

Anti-Aging Remedies

Anti-aging remedies are solutions to slow, halt or reverse the human aging process. Hormones, antioxidants, and other preventive agents are used to aid anti-aging.

Many hormones are applied to the tissues to get the specific effect. Growth hormone, melatonin, estrogen, testosterone, and DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) are the main anti-aging endocrines injected into the body. They enhance body stamina, immunity and muscle mass, eliminate cellulite and increase your memory. DHEA, existing in the body in the form of estrogen and testosterone, improves your libido, energy, muscles and immunity and decreases fat. Anti-aging cocktail supplements, rich in melatonin, served as a sleep-aid.

Antioxidants, which contain vitamin C, vitamin E, beta carotene, and the co-enzymes superoxide and dismutase, help cut down the tendency of aging by fighting harmful molecules. They are normally found in fruits and vegetables or naturally in the body. Antioxidants are best to slow down age related conditions such as macular degeneration, cancer, and heart disease. A number of other things are recommended to halt the aging process - fresh water, magnets, and light-emitting devices are among the popular ones.

The advanced technology in medical science has brought in a high acclivity in anti-aging treatment. Cosmeceuticals and hair dyes, dermabrasion, cosmetic surgery, laser resurfacing are commonly used to reverse aging. Smoking cessation, exercise, and dietary modification are factors that help you reverse aging. Using sunscreen protection and natural protection against cancer, including laetrile cream, estrogen blockers, and reservation, early detection and prevention of diabetes, heart disease, and osteoporosis, maintaining sexual performances, and mind-body connection are the main points to take into account.

Anti-aging evaluation and treatment plans serve to solve a number of aging related problems in the initial stage. Hormone replacement therapies, anti-oxidant analysis and appropriate supplementation, examination of bio-markers of aging, immune protection, and DNA repair are part of the anti-aging medical treatment.

Almost all anti-aging supplements are not properly tested, so using these suppliants may tend to cause side effects. An expert anti-aging physician may be consulted.

Anti-aging Nutritional Products

There are various anti-aging products that are available on the market today. But did you know that there are three categories of remedies for anti-aging?

Categories of anti-aging

First is the "Antedeluvina Legend," which espouses a return to the diet of ancient times (presumably the Biblical times before Noah, as antedeluvian means "before the flood"). It suggests adoption of the Paleolithic diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, and a lot of game meat and elimination of processed carbohydrate-laden foods. This ancient diet supposedly eliminates modern diseases and prolongs life. Today's popular high-protein diets were inspired by this belief.

The second category is the "Hyperborean Legend," which suggests that when you travel to certain parts of the earth, you can live forever. Some of these places are called Soviet Georgia, village of Vilcabumba and Kashmir, inspired by the notion of Shangri La from the novel Lost Horizon. There are commercials now that say yogurt prevents aging and is consumed by old people in Soviet Georgia.

The last category is termed as "Fountain Legends" and promotes the idea of magic pills, water and potions that can delay aging and rejuvenate old skin. The idea is that aging was thought to be a result of losing some natural products. So by replenishing these biological properties, you can slow down aging.

Many anti-aging medicines have not been studied adequately nor received approval from the Food and Drug Administration. Do not equate availability with safety, as some of these herbal medicines and vitamin supplements may have harmful effects. Do not experiment with these products.

So before choosing the right nutritional products to help you delay aging, consult your doctor first.

Anti-Aging and Healing the Natural Way through Electro Pulse Therapy

You know the old saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?" The truth is it's in the muscle tone that sustains your skin. Most people maintain the clear smooth, wrinkle free skin of their adolescence until the mid thirties. Both skin and facial muscles are still firm and elastic, so facial contours remain smooth and well defined. But shortly after the age of thirty-five the first signs of aging materialize.
By the age of forty-five, the higher cheek muscles may lengthen by as much as half an inch, pulling the skin over the cheeks downward to develop chubby little pouches by the corners of the mouth (called jowls). The external corners of the upper eyelids start to hang down over the lower ones. The excessively stretched out skin around the eyes creates a heavy lidded look with numerous lines and folds. Pouches accumulate below the eyes. As you reach your mid fifties the upper cheek muscles will have expanded by at least three quarters of an inch, forming creases around the ears, mouth and jaw line. Neck muscles will have also lost their tone and become slack and start to form neck rolls or cords which is the beginning of the all too recognizable "turkey neck" of old age. Baggy, stretched skin sags toward the front part of the neck.
This aging process happens so little by little you hardly even notice. That is, until you compare a photograph taken just five years ago to your current image you see in the mirror today. You will be amazed to realize how much older you look in a relatively short time! Over time as we age, because the underlying muscles become elastic they are unable to support the skin tissue attached to them. As a result the skin loses it's ability to regenerate new tissue and its ability to moisturize itself. An onset of mal effects are brought on such as; fluid buildup, wrinkles, and sagging skin, among others. Using mild electro pulse therapy or electrical stimulation (The Bio-Electric Rejuvenation), facial muscles feel and look firmer, and the appearance of wrinkles are reduced. It also helps to improve the tone and all the features of your face such as your eyes, cheeks, mouth, chin and skin. You get a tiny “face lift” (As Seen On Oprah) after each treatment or facial work out. You not only will see and feel the difference immediately, but so will everyone else!. This technology was featured on Oprah last year and has been sweeping the nation ever since. It was coined as the “Non-Surgical face lift” or as I like to call it, “fitness for your face”.
Many people have been able to achieve miraculous body transformations through rigorous and continuous correct fitness and nutritional practices and as we know only through a true fitness and nutritional lifestyle will you find the only real “fountain of youth”. But the one thing that has been almost impossible to anti-age through health and fitness alone is “the face” along with the body. In fact the leaner you get the more drawn and aged you tend to look unfortunately, Until now through “Bio-Electric Rejuvenation”.
What is Bio-Electric Rejuvenation?
The Bio-Electric Rejuvenation technology uses a variety of frequencies to stimulate cells and re-educate muscles. Through universal healing frequencies it tones muscles, reduce fluid retention, as well as softens wrinkles. It is non-invasive and non-abrasive. There are precise techniques that are used to raise, tighten and tone the muscles, which also creates elasticity in the tissue keeping the skin’s metabolism healthy and something to hang on to. A persons age and current condition will determine the number of treatments that are needed when they first begin. The anti-aging prescription that is generally recommended is for the client to come in for an initial series of two or three treatments a week for five to six weeks as you would when working with a personal trainer or starting any exercise regime. This will re-tone the muscles and rejuvenate the skin. A maintenance treatment of once every month for maintenance is suggested after the initial series, to keep the muscles tight and healthy. This is an incredible preventative treatment as well as a corrective treatment.
Weather a person chooses to have surgery or not is an individual choice and surgery has it’s place, But with a surgical face lift, the muscles and skin are cut and stretched causing scares and scar tissue. Within a few years after a surgical lift, muscles and skin will again begin to sag. The Bio-Electric can be used to improve or maintain many surgical procedures, as well as diminish scar tissue, providing that the area has completely healed. And with or with out surgery you would want to promote healthy skin and muscle fitness for your face in the same way that you would want to keep your body fit and healthy for life. I know I do.
We have been using this technology at our spa now for the last year and have gotten incredible results with our clients. I for one get the Bio-Electric Rejuvenation treatment at least 2 times a week and more if I can fit it in my busy schedule. I wouldn't want to imagine my face or life without this incredible anti-aging and leading edge treatment ever again.
Here Are Some Benefits
• Softens Wrinkles• Tones And Firms The Muscles• Rejuvenates The Skin• Stimulate Skin Cells• Re-Educates The Muscles• Keeps Skin Healthy
Health and Scientific Background
Noted Scientists Dr. Pilla, Dr. Robert Becker and Dr. Robert Basset discovered that low frequencies and intensities complement the human body. For example 0.6 hertz signals cell repair. Many surgeons, chiropractors and neurologists have been using this technology for years and are currently using electro pulse therapy for skin, muscles and nerve diseases. In the skin-care field, scientific research has proven that tissue repair leads to regeneration of cells and thus to younger, healthier-looking skin. And as someone who has studied energy and understands that all aspects of life are varying frequencies of energy, this is not only logical and true, but makes perfect sense.
Here Are Some Health Benefits
• Stimulates Brain and Neurological Function• Increases Vascular Function• Invigorates Lymphatic System• Sharpens Short Term Memory Issues• Helps With Brain Fog• Improves Mild Learning Disabilities
Here is a brief guide for anti-aging and staying healthy:
1. Consume 8 to 12 glasses of water every day.2. Setting goals and having very definite objectives is absolutely essential.3. Acquire and maintain a healthy supportive eating routine.4. Adopt A whole, complete and well-balanced exercise regimen.5. Love yourself unconditionally.6. ELIMINATE ALL TOXIC CONSUMPTION!7. Pray, meditate and have gratitude.8. Serve others.

Out to Pasture

Bob Barker, the host of The Price is Right, will “retire” this year. He is 83 years old. If he had stopped working at 65, there’s a good possibility Mr. Barker might not have passed this octogenarian milestone. Why? Maybe retirement can be detrimental to your health. It brings with it melancholy and boredom -- a life of dissatisfaction. Research in gerontology reveals that depression is the most prevalent mental illness among retirees, and we must admit, even the word sounds drab and uninteresting. Perhaps the concept of living a life of “leisure and relaxation” is not conducive to good health. Maybe, just maybe, our well-being is closely tied to our innate desire to be productive. Work is natural. Retirement is abnormal.
Wait a minute. Aren’t we supposed to look forward to our golden years; aren’t we supposed to yearn for that day when we stop clocking in, when we can relax and enjoy all the fruits of our labor? Isn’t that the reason we must make preparations---keep a close watch on home equity, pensions, 401ks, and our Social Security? The number 65 hovers over us as a reminder that retirement is near. Finally, we can leave the world of work behind and have some fun! Perhaps, but be careful what you wish for.
In the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, the fictional character, Frank Barone, is a retiree in his mid 60s--a man disengaged from work and life. No matter how the writers try to put a comic spin to Mr. Barone’s character, they can’t pull it off. Frank is marginalized. We glimpse a man that spends his days in perpetual monotony. He eats sandwiches and cracks jokes. His only joy is berating his wife and complaining. This is real. Mr. Barone represents a large majority of retirees in this country. Why is this man cut off from the larger world of social interaction and daily challenges? He drifts ghostlike, in a no-man’s land of domestic quarreling and superficial friendships at the “lodge.” The comedy writers gloss over his life. After all, there is nothing funny about a man who is disheartened and miserable. Perhaps the audience should ask the larger question? Why is Frank Barone, the accountant, retired? Better yet, how did our lives become so tied to this system of retirement?
This is a fairly new concept in American society. The notion of withdrawing from the workforce with State funded benefits didn’t take hold until 1935. Touted by President Roosevelt as the means to protect the elderly, Social Security is actually a government structure that bleeds the private sector dry---taxation without representation—and it’s been in full swing for over 60 years. But the most damaging fact about this State program has more to do with the psychological and social conditioning upon the general public. The system conditions the citizenry towards non-productivity and away from self-sufficiency. And that, my friends, is called retirement. Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m all for a program that provides for the needs of people that are facing poor health and financial hardship. But that’s about it. The rest of us are in pretty good health, and we’re tough -- many have experienced downsizing, mergers, corporate instability, successive job changes and insecurity. These events have made the new retiree a risk-taker and quick thinker.
